- Whakamaru Domain (18 hectres of farm land) is 5 minutes south east of Mangakino on State Highway 30 off State Highway 32
- Whakamaru Domain is used for Kiwiburn and motorcross park

M-I-A Wakeboarding present M-I-A Wakefest from the 19th - 21th of Feb at Whakamaru Domain, Mangakino, Lake Maraetei

M-I-A - the wakeboard company established in Mangakino - is interested in offering new opportunities to the community to promote sport and culture. M-I-A has been granted consent to host a music festival called "M-I-A Wakefest", from 19 - 21 Feb 2010. 
During this weekend Lake Maraetai is being used for the 'North Island Wakeboarding Championship'. M-I-A is utilising this exciting event to introduce M-I-A Wakefest Festival.
